Finally, an epic tour de force for stone-faced taciturn Liev Schreiber. We knew he had the acting chops, but could never quite find the right fit. It’s Michael Clayton in Hollywood with all the sleaze, grifters, mountebanks, lawyers, and hustlers all operating under the flimsy façade of fame, money and respectability. Jon Voight is both powerful and menacing enough to forgive his Fox brand of politics, but, perhaps, the most surprising revelation of all is 80’s Scarface Steven Bauer who comes exploding back to the small screen in the most textured and incendiary character in the Ray Donovan galaxy of Hollywood Babylon. It’s all the sleaze of Entourage, but for real life thinking adults.
