Mmmmmm. So unspeakably horrid — even when I complained the owner threatened to beat me up when I left. Hard to prepare yourself for something this regressively awful. Look, it’s Peoria so we weren’t expecting El Celler de Can Roca, but when Ray LaHood the former Transpo Secretary commands center room one might think you’re in for a decent culinary event. (Washington D.C. types take their expense accounts very seriously.) Unfortunately, the only thing I should have taken from the disgusted moue on the transportation tsar’s face was a conveyance far away from what turned out to be the dining equivalent to Danté’s Seventh Ring of Hell.
